Asyad Group Leads Transformation of the Logistics Sector at Breakbulk Middle East 2025

Asyad Group, Oman’s global integrated logistics provider, is reinforcing its position as a transformative leader in the region’s logistics landscape at the Break Bulk Middle East 2025 being held in Dubai in February 10–11, 2025, The event brings together industry leaders and key stakeholders to explore the dynamic future of breakbulk logistics in the GCC and MENA regions. Against the backdrop of unprecedented economic transformation, Asyad Group stands at the forefront of shaping the future of global logistics.

Juma Al Uraimi, Asyad Group’s Acting Chief Commercial Officer, articulated the group’s strategic vision. “As we navigate the dynamic landscape of breakbulk logistics in the GCC and MENA regions, we are witnessing an unprecedented convergence of efficient operations management in mega-projects, technological innovation, and sustainable practices that are redefining our industry’s future. Our strategic vision is anchored in leveraging new technologies, embracing sustainability initiatives, and positioning ourselves as a global logistics hub that not only meets the demands of transformative projects but also champions operational excellence and environmental stewardship.”

During the event, Asyad will host dynamic panel discussions to explore key industry challenges and opportunities shaping the logistics industry. Industry leaders will delve into the region's strategic logistics ecosystem and the effectiveness of integrated solutions in driving sector growth. Discussions will focus on enhancing efficiency and competitiveness, the transformative impact of technology, and infrastructure readiness. These panels will showcase the region's potential as a hub for breakbulk shipments, emphasizing effective stakeholder collaboration and the essential elements for successful implementation of integrated logistics solutions.

Reggy Vermeulen, CEO of the Port of Duqm, will deliver a keynote on the GCC's evolving energy investment landscape. He will highlight regional renewable energy targets, with the Sultanate of Oman’s national plan to achieve zero neutrality by 2050, and Saudi Arabia aiming for 50% renewable energy by 2030. Vermeulen will also emphasise the critical role of breakbulk logistics in facilitating this transition, particularly in transporting wind turbine components, solar panels, and other oversized equipment essential to renewable energy infrastructure.

Exploring the strategic landscape of global trade, Juma Al Maskari, Director at Asyad Logistics, will shed light on the transformative landscape of global logistics, emphasizing the industry's critical inflection point. With contract logistics projected to reach USD 300 billion by 2025 (6-8% CAGR), Al Maskari will outline the importance of strategic action. Al Maskari will also discuss the rise of supply chain outsourcing for optimized operational efficiency and sustainable cost reduction. The GCC and MENA regions, with Oman as a pivotal connector, are leading this revolution, strategically positioned to influence major international trade routes.

In a keynote address, Tom Anneberg, VP Commercial Strategy & Product Development at Asyad Group, will showcase the company’s pivotal role in the hydrogen industry, hosting major green hydrogen and ammonia joint ventures in Salalah Freezone, including H2Oman and SalalaH2. These projects, with production targets of 1.1 million and 430,000 tons per annum respectively, position Asyad at the forefront of clean energy logistics.

The regional market is expected to contribute USD 20-25 billion to this global landscape, underscoring the strategic importance of the Middle East in global logistics. Notably, over 60% of logistics providers are investing in cutting-edge technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI), signalling a profound digital transformation within the sector.

Asyad Group Executes a Complex Air Transport from Italy to Oman for OQRPI

Asyad Group successfully executed a mission-critical transport operation for OQ Refineries and Petrochemical Industries (OQRPI). The specialized project involved rapid and secure relocation of 25 tons of essential, heavy equipment from Italy to Oman using a dedicated (Boeing F 747) cargo charter.
