Asyad Group, Oman’s global integrated logistics provider, opened its office in Singapore, one of the key trade hubs in the thriving Asian market, increasing the group’s global presence and continuing its eastward expansion.
Represented by Asyad Shipping, the group capitalize on its this base of operations to increase Oman’s connectivity with the world’s biggest consumer and production centers and boost trade volumes. This strategic move followed a series of rapid expansion steps undertaken by Asyad Group to increase its footprint, develop capabilities and operations, and offer global players competitive unique, integrated logistics solutions.
Highlighting Asyad’s global expansion strategy, Dr. Ibrahim Al Nadhiri, CEO of Asyad Shipping and Asyad Drydock, said: “Asyad Group has been pursuing its strategy of targeted global expansion and fleet diversification, adopting a proactive approach to meet the evolving requirements of the maritime industry and the trends of international trade. Currently, we own and manage a diverse fleet of 85 vessels, and we are globally ranked the 18th biggest crude carrier owner, 21st biggest LNG carrier owner, and 51st biggest container ship owner.”
Kevin Ang, Managing Director of Asyad Shipping Singapore, explained: “Our new office in Singapore is a momentous milestone in Asyad’s journey to diversify operations and expand our global presence. It enables Asyad to offer reliable, efficient shipping services to international customers to meet their needs, promote their growth, and surpass their expectations.”
“Moving into Singapore, a vital maritime and logistics hub, is a proactive step aligned with global trends and Asyad’s strategy to continuously improve its shipping offering and value proposal while bolstering international trade,” Ang added.
“The Asyad Shipping office manages various vessels to move petroleum products and various goods to major destinations around the world. We kicked off operations by managing 9 ships in 2023, now increasing our roster to 15 crude and product carriers with a growing list of destinations and global customers, as word of our reliability travels across continents.”
Recently, demand on petrochemicals shipping solutions has increased as Duqm refinery (OQ8) began supplying international markets including Singapore, which signals a new era of trade with Oman in LNG and crude oil, Ang said.
